If you're seeing this message it means that the transition to our new cloud-based hosting is complete. After 2+ years of running Planet Cybiko off my own home server I got tired of being a server admin and decided to transition the site to a real host (along with my Minecraft server and a few other goodies!). I also renewed the planetcybiko.net domain name for another year tonight which means we are all set for another year of being THE ONLY remaining Cybiko resource anywhere. Hopefully that still means something. smile.gif

In any case, this should mean a drastically faster and better end user experience without the intermittent downtime experienced previously. Please let me know if you have any other requests or suggestions for this place. I am leaving Planet Cybiko up for YOU, whoever you may be who is reading this. I don't expect much, if any, traffic, but I cannot bring myself to let this place go. If nothing else, it will serve as an archive and a testament to what the Cybiko once was, and the great times that we all had back in the day. Ironically, I see now that I resigned from this place 5 years ago, moving on in my life and hoping to leave the site in the hands of the new generation. I suppose I may have underestimated how much this site meant to me then and I've always kept an eye on the place to make sure everything's going smoothly. That said, I am a very busy person these days and my visits have become less and less frequent. If anyone does still roam this dusty corner of the internet and is interested in helping keep a dinosaur alive, please do let me know. I would greatly appreciate any help.

Aside from that, I hope everyone is doing well. Enjoy the site!

I'm sorry that I really don't get here as often as I ought to sad.gif

Picante deserves far and away the credit for keeping this place alive, not I.

As he said, anyone interested in helping us out, reach out to Picante or me (mostly Picante).

Although in many ways Picante passed the torch to me, frankly I think even to this day Picante has had a far bigger role in this site than I have, and for that we all ought to be grateful.

I do apologize for the intermittent downtime this site has been experiencing over the last week, but the transition to our new server is now complete. Enjoy! smile.gif

> 500th Post! + Blog System Fixed
Posted by PicanteGamer - March 3rd, 2011 @ 1:59 AM - 8 comments
Very newsworthy..wink.gif

However, I can announce that the blog system is now properly working for new posts. I have no idea who will actually take advantage of this, but for the last 14 months new posts haven't been able to use the current year, reverting back to 2006. This is now fixed..which means I can rest easy tonight!

Also, I'm probably gonna get a MacBook Pro starting this next quarter of school. Just on the fence about 13'' or 15''. With the education discount, a 13'' base model can be had for $1100. 15'' base model is $1700, and fully loaded is $2k. Pretty insane. rolleyes.gif

/end random news post. I've been extremely busy, sorry guys. Thought the site needed something new and exciting like this though. cool.gif
